Dismantling of infrastructure at Heath Point telecommunications site

The Canadian Coast Guard is planning to dismantle the remaining infrastructure at its telecommunications site located at Heath Point on Anticosti Island.

The scope of work includes :

  • Removal of diesel and helicopter fuel storage systems that have been permanently decommissioned;
  • Removal of sections of the guyed tower that was taken down in 2025;
  • Removal and disposal of three (3) generators;
  • Demolition of the three (3) shelters on site, including  walkways and stairs;
  • Demolition of the overhead cable bridge that connected the electronic equipment shelter to the guyed tower;
  • Removal of a satellite antenna;
  • Removal of the Environment and Climate Change Canada weather installations;

The debris will be slung and sorted into containers on a Canadian Coast Guard vessel positioned approximately 1 km off the site.
