Construction of New Tennis and Basketball Courts - 5 Wing Goose Bay

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to construct a new outdoor recreation area located adjacent and north of the Gymnasium, consisting of tennis courts, a basketball court and associated access walking trail. The new outdoor recreation area will provide users with the convenience to access the Gym facilities in a more central location. The total estimated project area is 2,973 m2, and consists of: 2,610 m2 prepared surface for tennis and basketball courts; and, 363 m2 gravel walking/access trail. It is anticipated that the construction of the recreation area (tennis courts, basketball court and walking trail) will be completed in the Fall of 2021.

August 28, 2021 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
