Upgrade Back Beam Marker Road, 5 Wing Goose Bay

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project which will provide the Back Beam Marker Road with required upgrades. The road provides important access to air navigation equipment for the 5 Wing Goose Bay aerodrome, and consists of gravel and earthen road, which has deteriorated. The proposed project will include placing of new gravel, installation of culverts where required due to existing wetlands in the area and cutting and grubbing of vegetation within 3 meters on each side of the road. It is estimated that 5 culverts of a 10 inch diameter will be required. The road is approximately 1.6 km long and 5 m wide.
