DFO-SCH Harbour Development, Lodge Bay, NL

DFO, Small Craft Harbours are proposing to complete a harbour development project in Lodge Bay, Labrador. The proposed project will see the demolition of four wooden docks, as well as dredging of an area approximately 14 meters by 30 meters, to accommodate the new gravel launchway, an upland service area, and installation of a floating dock and associated gangway and headblock. The new floating dock will be anchored via concrete anchor blocks. Standard floating dock and launchway construction methods and equipment will be utilized. Stone required for the project will be obtained from an approved quarry in an upland location and trucked to the site. Heavy equipment consisting primarily of excavators and dump trucks will be utilized to complete the project.
