Nursing Station Fuel System Upgrades in Summer Beaver

The Proposed Project

 

Nibinamik First Nation is proposing various upgrades to the community nursing station's fuel system. Project activities will include:

  • Decommissioning and removal of the old tank from the community;
  • Construction of a concrete pad and placement of 50,000 L bulk fuel tank;
  • Replacement of 3 existing day tanks;
  • Removal and replacement of fuel system piping;
  • Installation of two non-combustible fuel kiosks;
  • Installation of a new control system; And
  • Installation of fencing around the tank system.

End of Public Comment Period

 

July 23, 2026 – The public period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
