Broken Hills and Valley of 1000 Devils Trail System Developments

Parks Canada is proposing the upgrade of two existing trail systems – Broken Hills and Valley of 1000 Devils – in Grasslands National Park. Proposed developments will involve significant realignment work, resurfacing, and installation of trail amenities. This project will be reviewed using the Basic Impact Assessment pathway.


Latest update

January 16 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
