Sault Ste. Marie Canal Unwatering Investigation

A section of the Sault Ste. Marie Canal Lock will be unwatered around the lock gates to investigate and assess the condition of the canal's infrastructure and functional components. This project includes maintenance work and previously identified repair needs and is required to ensure the safe and continued operation of the recreational waterway locks along the St. Mary's River. The unwatering investigation work outlined in this impact assessment will support the creation of works scheduled for major repairs in a further planned unwatering and contribute to the long-term capital asset management planning for the site.
