Cedar LNG Project

Cedar LNG Export Development Ltd. is proposing to construct and operate a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility and marine export terminal near Kitimat, British Columbia. The proposed project would process and liquefy natural gas to produce approximately 3 to 4 million tonnes of LNG per year and include storage capacity for up to 250,000 cubic metres of LNG. The proposed project would have a lifespan of at least 25 years.

Latest update

January 7, 2020 – The participant funding application period is closed. The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is reviewing the applications to determine funding allocations.

December 19, 2019 - The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada has decided that an impact assessment for the designated project is required and has issued its impact assessment decision with reasons. The Minister of Environment and Climate Change’s decision on British Columbia's substitution request for the impact assessment will be posted at a later date.
