North Island Mine Project
North Island Mining Corp. is proposing the construction, operation and decommissioning of a new copper and gold mine located approximately 25 kilometres west of Port Hardy, British Columbia. As proposed, the North Island Mine Project would include four open pits, a tailings storage facility, waste rock storage facilities, a processing plant and mill, worker accommodations, and access roads. The project would be implemented over two phases and have a maximum production capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes per day during the expected 37-year mine life.
