Ojibway Nation of Saugeen Gas Station and General Store Development

Ojibway Nation of Saugeen intends to refurbish an existing 200 m² building at the intersection of Highway 599 and the community access road into a gas station and general store. Work will involve renovating the interior of the building to serve as a store front, grading and expanding the 4,500 m² lot, and completing the engineered design and installation of two - 7,500L above ground storage tanks for gasoline and diesel storage with a fueling island for gasoline.

July 16, 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
