Ojibway Nation of Saugeen Gas Station and General Store Development

Ojibway Nation of Saugeen intends to refurbish an existing 200 m² building at the intersection of Highway 599 and the community access road into a gas station and general store. Work will involve renovating the interior of the building to serve as a store front, grading and expanding the 4,500 m² lot, and completing the engineered design and installation of two - 7,500L above ground storage tanks for gasoline and diesel storage with a fueling island for gasoline.


Latest update

June 15, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until July 15, 2026, respecting that determination.
