Latvia - Ceri Military Base - Helicopter Landing Zone (HLZ) construction

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. This project involves the construction of two Helicopter Landing Zones (HLZ), with a proposed 13 600 m2 footprint. The area is currently a developed land with existing gravel pad, French drains and fencing on all four sides. The intent is to transform the area into a rigid concrete apron with two clearly identified HLZ.


Latest update

April 2, 2026 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
