Nadleh Whut'en Community Skating Rink

The proposed project has the primary objective to improve the health, cultural and social conditions of the Nadleh Whut'en Community through the installation of a new outdoor skating/hockey rink for the community.

The Scope of project works will include:

  • Resurfacing and upgrading of existing parking areas
  • Construction of an outdoor skating rink with a roof
  • Construction of bleacher style seating, a dressing room, showers, and a food outlet
  • Installation of a new septic field
  • Extension of utilities connections to the new facility
  • Associated ground and utilities works (ie excavation and lighting)

Vegetation clearing will be required of ~3000 m2 and total site clearing will be ~4000m2.  Site clearing is planned  between September and November 2022 and will be done with low impact equipment and hand tools.

May 2, 2022  - The public comment period on the project is closed. Infrastructure Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
