Heart Lake First Nation: CU370 Wastewater System Emergency Repairs

Heart Lake First Nation is completing emergency repairs to its wastewater systems infrastructure associated with the band administration offices and community center. Repairs to the system include construction of upgraded sanitary lines (214.6 m of 200 mm PVC pipe, 79.0 m of 150 mm PVC pipe, and 27.24 m of 50 mm HDPE low pressure sanitary main), construction of three new 1200 mm manholes, and upgrades to the water treatment plant filter and analyzer components. The intended repairs will be tied-in to the existing manholes and sanitary service lines. The work requires clearing and grubbing of approx. 0.15 ha of natural forest area to accommodate trenched installation of the upgraded sanitary line.
