Bruce Used Fuel Dry Storage Facility (Archived)

Description: Ontario Hydro has submitted a proposal to construct a dry-storage facility for used nuclear fuel produced at the Bruce Nuclear Power Development, on Georgian Bay in the southwestern part of the province. The storage facility is required for the Bruce A and Bruce B generating stations to continue operating.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On April 14, 1999, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authority for appropriate next steps.
