Athabasca Seasonal Road (Archived)

Saskatchewan

Description: Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation, the Prince Albert Grand Council, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada have submitted a proposal to construct a seasonal road between Points North Landing and Black Lake for the supply of Northern Saskatchewan communities.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On December 16, 1996, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authorities for appropriate next steps.

Federal Responsible Authorities: Fisheries & Oceans Canada (lead) and Indian and Northern Affairs Canada
