Town of Oxford Water Supply Project (Archived)

Description: The Town of Oxford, in the northwestern part of the province, has submitted a proposal to construct and operate a well field and pipeline to supply a reliable source of potable water to its residents.
Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On January 17, 2001, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authorities for appropriate next steps.
Federal Responsible Authorities: Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (lead) and Human Resources Development Canada
