Interior Fuel Storage

This project proposes the installation of a fuel storage site in the interior of Pukaskwa National Park for helicopter refuelling purposes. The proposed site is located at Cabin Lake. The project proposes to store 4 x 55-gallon barrels (total 220 gallons / 832 L) in a 1 m x 3 m aluminum containment box that is designed to store aviation fuel outdoors. This project would allow fire operation personnel to refuel helicopter(s) at a closer location than the current refueling location at the Marathon Airport, resulting in time- and cost-savings by reducing the turn around time for refueling.
