Sandy Lake First Nation - Child and Family Services Building

Sandy lake First Nation is proposing a Child and Family Services Building Project. The building will be approximately 2,200 m2 in footprint, serviced with electricity, water/wastewater systems, and internet. To service the building with the community's water system, the watermain will be extended approximately 300m. A stand-by generator will be installed at the site and will include a 14,327L double-walled diesel fuel storage tank on a concrete pad. The site will also include a parking lot, storage garage, outdoor children's play area, gazebo and teepee.

March 11, 2025 - The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause adverse environmental effects.

January 20, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until February 20, 2025 respecting the determination.
