Dene Tha' Hay Lake Old School Remediation

The focus for this program is on continuing the remediation of the contamination (hydrocarbons) that exists in both the saturated and unsaturated zone of the soil. The contamination will be treated with  combination of in situ chemical oxidation and ex situ bioremediation based on areas of particular concern to the community and areas with previous difficulties with insitu treatment. ISCO (in-situ) is planned to continue for zones where excavation is restricted due to existing land use and infrastructure and outside the former school footprint; excavation and bioremediation treatment (ex-situ) will be conducted for areas where ISCO is not feasible.
