Iskut Child and Family Services Building

Iskut First Nation proposes to construct a new Family Services Building located within Iskut IR 6. The site is situated northeast of Highway 37 in a residential area and immediately northwest of Zetu Creek. The anticipated Civil Works for the project include:
-Installation of a Family Services Building (~337 m2)
-Installation of a new water service connection from the existing water main
-Sanitary sewer servicing: gravity collection system with treatment and in-ground disposal (~46 m2)
-Drainage and surface water management: proposed grading and drainage swales to direct surface run-off to existing roadside
ditches for conveyance and outlet to Zetu Creek
-Installation of new overhead power pole or underground power supply
-Parking and access (~290 m2)
It should be noted that no in-stream works are proposed for this project.
Latest update
[1/15/2026] – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until February 15, 2026.
All comments received will be considered public.
