Generator and Storage Tank Replacement
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
This project involves the replacement of 4 Storage tanks and 2 generators (diesel), as well as all associated piping, that make up an EC registered storage tank system at the Little Gold Border Crossing:
Two (2) prime diesel generators and associated power electronics
Two (2) day storage tanks (located inside in the utility building, serving generators, and a fire pump) One (1) day tank (located exterior east side of customs building, for heating)
One (1) main storage tank 20,000 L.
The three day tanks are to be replaced with like-for-like capacity tanks. The main storage tank will be replaced with a slightly larger tank (25,000L) that will be seismically restrained on a new concrete housekeeping pad, in the same location as the previous tank. The new portable generators will be installed outside on a new housekeeping pad, east of the utility building.
The system is all above ground - no subsurface material expected to be disturbed. Design and Installation will adhere to all applicable codes, standards and Federal legislation.
