The company and the government already said they might put a nuclear plant at the Lambton site later on. Before they start building anything, we need to know exactly when and how that decision could happen. They should tell the public what steps or approvals would let them switch from “just exploring” to actually planning a nuclear project. The North Chatham-Kent Municipality continues to suffer serious area wide water well interferences caused by underlying Kettle Point Black Shale particles known to contain heavy metals such as lead and cadmium enter the drinking water supply of the rural population in North Chatham-Kent The investigation by the Ontario Ministry of Environment has failed on many fronts to be considered adequate as the Ontario government has not collected or analyzed any of the particulate for long term or acute health effects- no bioavailability studies to date have been conducted nor a causation mechanism addressed to explain the observed Black shale particles entering water wells Without Federal assistance this population of rural families will be exposed to heavy metals either chronic or acute Please advise if the Federal Government can investigate and in what time frame Thank you Kevin Jakubec

More specifically they mention their concern over air quality and environmental health in the region, in an area that is already impacted by industrial pollution. Beyond showing compliance with provincial air quality criteria for this facility, what other measure or commitments will be implemented to actively reduce the cumulative deterioration of air quality that will disproportionately effect surrounding communities (including nearby Indigenous communities)? How will the project proactively incorporate Indigenous Traditional Knowledge Systems into the longterm environmental health and monitoring plans throughout the lifetime of this project?
