Since I have heard of the opportunity of an ubiquitous production company as DeHavilland coming to Wheatland Country thoughts are excited . What a great opportunity for the county and economics to Langdon, Cheatle, Strathmore and all of Wheatland county.
This will not only create hundreds of jobs but stimulate the economy of region with increase business to communities. There will many off shoot business opportunities created there the production of and surviving of aircraft..
The county should welcome the increase in the corporate tax basis provided here.
It will provide hundreds of jobs for trades people and opportunities for our young citizens to learn and develope trades with made in Canada . This is a great opportunity to diversify and build the Canadian aviation industry.
This is production and maintenance portion of DeHavilland not an international airport like ycc. Sure there will be planes landing and taking off but not every minute of the day. Transportation Canada will regulate the operational hours of flights. Planes coming in and out are for maintenance only not commercial flights.
Production of the Beaver, dash-8. And water bombers to be for the world is a great opportunity for Canada and Alberta. It's obviously the oil and gas industry is under decline and attack ,so this gives us an opportunity to develope in another area .
Some are concerned about increased traffic . It's alongside the trans Canada highway .it's always busy. A new intersection needs to be developed there .it is a danger now and aways has been .
As far as noise transport Canada regulates the noise planes create and time and hours of operation . This is a manufacturing maintenance facility and air traffic would be at a minimum .
So let's get going and build our community economy with the opportunity .
