Tent Mountain Coal Development- Alberta

Never in my many years on earth have I suffered more stress and anxiety as I have since the Kenney UCP Government took office.

All of life’s most vital resources, our environmental protection, our essential services and our economic security are at risk.

There is no more precious resource on the face of the earth than clean water, clean air and clean land that supports plant and animal life.

On these all life depends. Our Rocky Mountains and eastern slopes are the very source of those very resources. The watershed that provides the  primary source of water for hundreds of thousands of people is where foreign Australian miners and the UCP of Alberta are willing to risk our lives and future generations of people for a few lousy dollars. Extreme weather conditions are threatening enough. Droughts in southern Alberta are now more prevalent.

Our strong 100Km. predominant west wind will spread coal dust for hundreds of miles polluting the water, land and the air people in southern Alberta depend upon to be safe.

There is no possible way known to mankind to protect water from selenium pollution, arsenic and other dangerous pollutants. The seepage of selenium, according to history and science could continue for generation after generation. Selenium is water soluble and will be taken up by plants, poisoning the vegetation eaten by both man and animals.

There is no possible way man can rebuild a mountain, remake a watershed, reforest the debris, prevent flooding from deforestation and save our environment and economy and humanity if we DO NOT START MAKING INTELLIGENT DECISIONS. Open pit mountain top coal mining is case of the worst possible irresponsible and irreparable man made disaster.

Capitalism and the ensuing insatiable GREED attached is the biggest threat to the security and survival of mankind.

People worldwide are beginning to win court cases against governments as such choices rob us of our “RIGHT TO LIFE AND LIBERTY.”

I ask that you respect the majority of Albertans and protect our lives, our economy, our environment and our ranchers, farmers, tourism industry, recreation and our Province from VAST UGLY SCARS - DEATH, DAMAGE AND DESTRUCTION.
