Good afternoon Shelly and Amy,

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is responsible for the conservation and protection of fish and fish habitat in Canada.  DFO manages physical impacts associated with any work, undertaking or activity that may impact fish and fish habitat, and any activities that may affect aquatic species at risk, as per the Fisheries Act and Species At Risk Act (SARA).

As per your email request on September 23, 2021, DFO has reviewed the new designation request.  DFO has no additional comments.

Should any works in water be proposed that may impact fish and fish habitat, such as, but not limited to, water crossings, the proponent should submit a Request for Review form for DFO which outlines the specific impacts of the project on fish and fish habitat for review under the Fisheries Act. The completed Request for Review form should be submitted to FisheriesProtection@dfo-mpo.gc.ca (mailto:FisheriesProtection@dfo-mpo.gc.ca).

DFO has confirmed that there are no aquatic species at risk at or near this site that would be impacted.

Our previous comments for this project still apply.

Sincerely,

Lisa Wren
