Recommendation to the Minister of ECCC to reject the application of Benga Mining Ltd. to mine Grassy Mountain

My detailed argument for rejection of this proposal is made in the appended document. This project, and any other proposals for open pit coal mining in Canada should be rejected on multiple environmental grounds. In the Grassy Mountain case, moreover, there is no convincing case for substantial socioeconomic benefits, and the public response is clear.
