2024-08-30 - Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Telus Communications Inc. is proposing to erect a new 73m guyed radiocommunications tower on Tl'etinqox Nation land near the community of Alexis Creek, BC.  The purpose of the tower is to provide improved wireless service including voice and data to the surrounding community and along Highway 20.  The tower will initially house six panel antennas and two dish antennas to support a variety of communication technologies in the 700, 800, 1700, 1900 and 2100 MHz bands.  The tower may undergo periodic antenna additions, replacements, or other minor modifications.
