Notice of Intent to Make a Determination

Cowessess First Nation Solid Waste Transfer Station - Public Comments invited

August 21, 2024- Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Cowessess First Nation Solid Waste Transfer Station, to be located on Cowessess First Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

Proposed Project

This project is to construct a new solid waste transfer station (SWTS) for Cowessess First Nation on previously cultivated land. New infrastructure includes an access road, full enclosure fence with gate, operator building, grade separated WTS with roll-off (RO) bins for some residential waste, and diversion bays for recyclable material.
