Wapekeka Office Building Construction Project - Public Comments Invited

August 14, 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Wapekeka Office Building Construction Project, located in the community of the Wapekeka First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Wapekeka First Nation is proposing the construction of a new office building of 7450 square feet. Physical activities and resulting physical works will include excavation and backfill, sewer and water installation, framing and finishing  with sump pits and pumps, framing and finishing wood framed with exterior siding, asphalt shingles, interior gypsum board, vinyl flooring, standard washroom and kitchen fixtures, HRVs, and electric forced air furnaces.
