Maintenance Dredge 8081 River Road, Delta – Public comments invited

July 25, 2024 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Maintenance Dredge, located at 8081 River Road, Delta, are likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by Agust 23, 2024.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed project

Envirochem Service Incorporated (the Applicant) is proposing to complete maintenance dredging at 8081 River Road (the Project) in Delta. The Project consists of maintenance dredging within an identical historical polygon of 2500 cubic meters to a design depth of -6.5 meters chart datum. Dredging to be completed using a clamshell and flat or dump scows which would be towed to Point Grey Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) Disposal at Sea disposal site under permit. The total volume of dredged material to be less than 4000 cubic meters.
