Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons

Ottawa — July 19, 2024 — On June 28, 2024, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) suspended the 180-day time limit for the Planning Phase under the Impact Assessment Act for JX LNG Canada Ltd.'s (the proponent) Summit Lake PG LNG Project.

IAAC has taken this action further to a written request from the proponent  that the time limit be suspended in order to facilitate alignment with British Columbia's environmental assessment process and to provide IAAC with a Detailed Project Description that includes the information prescribed by the Information and Management of Time Limits Regulations.

IAAC will post a notice that the prescribed activities are completed, and the 180-day time limit will resume when IAAC accepts the proponent's response to the Joint Summary of Issues and Engagement, and Detailed Project Description.
