Construction of a building on Kamloops Indian Reserve No.1, Kamloops – Public Comments Invited

May 31, 2024  The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) must determine whether the proposed construction of a bulding, located on the Kamloops Indian Reserve No.1, in Kamloops, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, BDC is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Jetstream Boats Inc. is requesting financing from BDC for the construction of a pre-engineered building located on lot 12-1 Block 2 4389 CLSR Kamloops Indian Reserve No. 1, 4389 Ricardo Road, in Kamloops. The site is approximately 3,521 m2 in size, is currently vacant and was previously used for agricultural purposes. Development of the site will include vegetation removal, excavation and construction.

The building will have an office section and a warehouse. Total footprint of the building will be approximately 1,756 m2. It will be used as the principal site of the company, for fabrication/manufacturing of boats as well as office space.
