Notice of Determination

April 15, 2024 - The Prince Rupert Port Authority, Transport Canada, and Department of Fisheries and Oceans have determined that the proposed Zanardi Bridge, Causeway, and Corridor Connection is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• Biophysical Effects
• Impacts on Indigenous Peoples
• Health Conditions
• Social Conditions
• Economic Conditions

Mitigation Measures taken into account for this determination are: 

• Riparian Habitat and Vegetation
• Marine Fish and FIsh Habitat
• Archaeological and Heritage Resources
• Air Quality, Noise, and Light 
• Indigenous Fishery 
• Social

The Federal Authorities are satisfied that carrying out the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, the Federal Authorities may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
