Telus Communications Inc., new radiocommunications tower (BC153008) in Bella Bella - Public Comments Invited

2023-09-12 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Telus Communications Inc. is proposing to erect a new 38m monopole radiocommunications tower on Heiltsuk First Nations land in the community of Bella Bella, BC.  The purpose of the tower is to provide improved wireless service including voice and data to the community.  The tower will initially house 12 large panel antennas to support a variety of communication technologies in the mobile wireless bands.  The tower may undergo periodic antenna additions, replacements, or other minor modifications.
