Notice of Determination

May 18, 2023 – The National Research Council Canada has determined that the proposed project (i.e., the Square Kilometre Array in Australia) is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Mitigation measures will be implemented for the following:

• Vegetation;
• Wildlife;
• Surface water;
• Physical and cultural resources; and
• Traditional land use

The National Research Council is satisfied that carrying out this project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.  Therefore, the National Research Council may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
