The Proposed Project
- This project involves Goods Acquisition for a new stoplog lifter for the Latchford Dam.
- The supplier's scope includes design, fabrication, delivery, installation, and removal of existing stoplog lifter.
- All design and fabrication works will be completed within the supplier's shop.
- The delivery will involve access to site by the delivery vehicle (likely a flat bed) and by a crane. A crane is necessary to unload the stoplog lifter from the delivery vehicle onto the dam's operational deck.
- Road access for vehicles is available on both shores, which is typically used by mobile crane to perform dam operation during maintenance of existing stoplog lifter.
- Once the stoplog lifter is installed, a series of testing will be completed, which involves normal dam operations and stoplogs handling. Coordination with Water Management Engineers is planned.
- After the acceptance tests are completed, the existing stoplog lifter will be decommissioned and removed from site, using similar (if not same) equipment that was used for delivery.
