Deltaport Pod 5 Concrete Resurfacing - GCT – Public comments invited 

August 16, 2022 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Deltaport Pod 5 Concrete Resurfacing - GCT, located at the Deltaport Container Terminal at 2 Roberts Bank, Tsawwassen, B.C., are likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by September 14, 2022

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed project 

Global Container Terminals LP is proposing to repave approximately 7,850 square metres of the Deltaport Container Terminal, located at 2 Roberts Bank Road. The current area has a concaved shape and the leveling of this area will assist storage of containers from 4 to 5 high. Works will include, but not be limited to, milling down the concaved area until flat, excavation of approximately 1.8 metre wide strips approximately 0.33 metres deep across the entire width of the storage area, installation of rebar cages, infill with concrete and overlay with approximately 50 millimetres of asphalt.
