Samson Cree Nation 3-Mile Lagoon Drainage Improvement – Public Comments Invited

July 8, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Samson Cree Nation 3-Mile Lagoon Drainage Improvement Project located in Samson Cree Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Samson Cree Nation proposes to upgrade drainage infrastructure to promote drainage continuity within the community, and away from the wastewater treatment building. The Project involves upgrades to the existing drainage infrastructure, surface drainage improvements at the wastewater treatment building, installation of seven new culvert crossings, and upgrades to six existing culverts within SW 14-44-24-W4M, NW 14-44-24-W4M, NW 14-44-24-W4M, NE 14-44-24-W4M, NW 13-44-24-W4M, NE 13-44-24-W4M, SW 19-44-23-W4M, SE 19-44-23-W4M, and NW 17-44-23-W4M.
