Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons

Ottawa — May 25, 2021 — On May 19, 2021, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) suspended the 90-day time limit within which the Minister must respond, with reasons, to the initial request for designation of the Tent Mountain Mine Redevelopment Project (the Project), proposed by Montem Resources Alberta Operations Ltd. (the Proponent).

The Agency has taken this action further to a written request from the Proponent that the time limit be suspended for 30 days in order that the Proponent may have sufficient time to address the issues and concerns of a First Nation, in relation to the Project.

When the Agency is informed by the Proponent that the above activity is completed, or once 30 days have elapsed, whichever occurs first, the Agency will post a notice that the 90-day time limit will resume.
