Notice of Time Limit Extension with Reasons

Ottawa — October 28, 2021 — On October 28, 2021, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) extended the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for GCT Canada Limited Partnership's proposed GCT Deltaport Expansion - Berth Four Project.

The Agency has taken this action further to a written request from British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Office that the time limit for the planning phase be extended by an additional 90 days to permit cooperation and alignment of federal and provincial assessment processes, including coordination and tailoring of the Joint Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines / Application Information Requirements.

Accordingly, the maximum timeline by which the Agency must post a Notice of Commencement and required plans on this Registry for the Project is 270 days.
