Public Comments Invited:
December 15, 2020 – The Fisheries and Oceans Canada must decide whether the proposed Search and Rescue Float and Mooring Pile Repairs, located in Bella Bella, B.C. is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this decision, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

Project Summary:
The proposed project scope involves a like for like reconstruction of approximately 33.0m x 3.0m of existing timber floats. The reconstructed timber float will be within the same footprint as the existing floats.  The mooring piles on site are combination of steel pipe pile and creosote treated timber pile, any deteriorated mooring piles will be replaced like for like should they be of a safety concern.


Project Location:
The site is located approximately 4 km east of Bella Bella, BC in Old Bella Bella, BC.  The wharf is located on Denny Island within Queen Charlotte Sound and is found at the western end of Shearwater Road.
