2021 Single Well Battery (SWB) Tie-in Project

April 28, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. The Proposed Project

IPC Canada Ltd. is proposing to install pipelines to 11 producing oil wells within the Oil Access Area on CFB Suffield, approximately 75 km from Medicine Hat, Alberta. All wells are currently producing to single well batteries (SWB). Installing pipelines will increase the efficiency of operations by eliminating trucking and product transfer, while reducing emissions. Approximately 4.6 km of new right-of-way (ROW) varying in width from 15 to 20 m will be required for the installation of the pipelines. The ROW's will be reclaimed once construction is complete and surrendered upon exhaustion of the productive life of the associated wells.
