The Proposed Project

The Fort Frontenac Storm Drainage and Parking Lot Reconstruction project involves replacing and repairing site infrastructure to manage the stormwater within Fort Frontenac, in Kingston, Ontario. The work includes replacement/upsizing of existing portions of the storm sewers, installing new storm systems, new outfall, abandoning existing service connections and reconstructing the parking lot to address site drainage issues. The project also includes spot repairs to the sanitary sewer prior to new asphalt reinstatement, replacement of impacted curbs and sidewalks, addressing utility conflicts, removal of the abandoned tennis court, improved Fort access/egress and parking. The project is required to bring the site infrastructure in line with typical quantity and quality control best management practices to help mitigate the negative impacts of surface flooding and high Lake Ontario water levels, help to preserve the historic infrastructure assets in Fort Frontenac.
