Sturgeon Lake First Nation - Renovation for gas bar and convenience store - Public Comments Invited

January 12, 2021 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Sturgeon Lake First Nation - Renovation for gas bar and convenience store, located in Prince Albert, SK, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Sturgeon Lake First Nation - Renovation for gas bar and convenience store

 The Sturgeon Lake First Nation plans a renovation of an existing commercial unit in a Prince Albert Strip Mall for a gas bar and convenience store. There will be a double walled split underground storage tank with 50,000L gas and 15,000L diesel fuel capacity to service the gas station.

Existing water and sewer connections are to City of Prince Albert Infrastructure. Recycling and Solid Waste to be contracted to Commercial Supplier.

Fuel tanks and associated infrastructure to be installed in accordance with typical construction practices by Qualified contractor.  Exterior construction will involve site excavation, tank and piping installation and appropriate backfilling and associated signage, hard and soft landscaping. Fuel Tanks and associated infrastructure to be installed according to all Municipal, Provincial and Federal regulations.  Tanks are registered with Environment Canada and Emergency Spill Plan is available.
