Notice of Determination for Muskowekwan Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

December 4, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Muskowekwan Water Treatment Plant Upgrades is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

-the existing  water treatment plant at Muskowekwan First Nation has reached the end of its life span, and the construction of a new water treatment plant will benefit its membership
-the construction of the water treatment plant will provide employment opportunities for members of Muskowekwan First Nation
-no comments were received from the public about the project
-mitigation measures are required for the project

Implementation of the following mitigation measures is required for the project:

- All waste materials will bestored in refuse containers, and hauled to an offsite regional landfill
 
Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
