Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Demolition of a Residential Housing Unit located at 19 Gagnon Street 2nd Canadian Division Support Base Valcartier

June 18,  2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Following a fire that occurred on April 3, 2020 at the residential housing unit located at 19 Gagnon street, it was declared a total loss. The complete demolition of this approximately 100 metre squared residential housing unit is planned by the Canadian Forces Housing Agency in the summer of 2020.
