Renovation and expansion of the medical clinic at CFB Valcartier

January 28, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed renovation and expansion of the medical clinic at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project consists of renovations and expansion of the existing medical clinic as well as demolition of three other buildings, once the users have moved into the new building.
Here is a summary of the areas of work planned at each location:
-Expansion with an area of 8,095 in building VC-109;
-Renovation with an area of 6,800 in building VC-109;
-Demolition with an area of 2,668 in buildings VC-109A, VC168 and VC-143.
