The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) invites you to participate in an open house and public sessions on the Saguenay Port Authority's Environmental Impact Statement for the Marine Terminal Project on the North Shore of the Saguenay. These events will be held in the Multifunctional center of Saint-Fulgence located at 257 Saguenay Street, Saint-Fulgence.

The sessions are open to all and are aimed at gathering questions and comments from the public about the potential environmental effects of the project and on the measures proposed by the proponent to prevent or mitigate those effects.

The open house will be held on October 4, from 3:00 to 10:00 pm. You will be invited to visit themed booths and meet with representatives of federal government departments and the Quebec government. They will respond to your questions based on the preliminary results of their analysis of the Environmental Impact Statement on topics such as wildlife and wildlife habitat, air quality, sediment management, human environment and marine safety. The proponent will also be present to answer questions concerning its findings on the topics presented in its Environmental Impact Statement. In addition, you will be able to meet with Agency staff members and ask questions about the federal environmental assessment process.

The public session will be held on October 5, from 6:30 to 10:30 pm. It will be hosted by a moderator in the presence of the proponent and representatives from federal departments and the Quebec government. Members of the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments about the Environmental Impact Statement. A summary of the questions and comments received will be posted on the Canadian environmental assessment Registry and considered by the Agency as part of the environmental assessment of the project.

Please note that you may also submit your questions and comments in writing to the Agency (ACEE.ProjetTerminalSaguenay-SaguenayTerminalProject.CEAA@ceaa-acee.gc.ca) during the public consultation period on the Environmental Impact Statement which will end in October 18, 2016.

Looking forward to meeting you,
