Environmental Assessment of the Proposed Schaft Creek Mine Project

Open Houses and Invitation to Comment
October 6, 2010 to November 5, 2010

Copper Fox Metals Inc. (Proponent) proposes to develop an open pit copper-gold-molybdenum-silver mine (Project), 60 km south of Telegraph Creek in northwest British Columbia, with a proposed ore production capacity of up to 150,000 tonnes per day over a projected 15-year operation period.

The Project is subject to a co-operative review under British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (comprehensive study).

The Project is early in the environmental assessment (EA) process; the B.C. Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) must now finalize and approve the Application Information Requirements (AIR). The AIR will specify the studies to be conducted and information to be provided by the Proponent in its formal submission to the EA process. The EAO and CEAA are inviting comments on the draft AIR prior to issuing them to the Proponent.

To provide information about the EA processes and AIR, and to receive comments from the public, the EAO and CEAA invite the public to attend an Open House. There will be five Open Houses, to be held as follows:

at: on:
Telegraph Creek Recreation Centre October 12, 2010 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Dease Lake Community Hall October 13, 2010 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Starting at the end of the first hour, there will be presentations by the EAO and CEAA on the cooperative EA process, followed by a presentation by the Proponent on the Project.

There are 30 days for submitting written comments, from October 6, 2010 to November 5, 2010. After taking public comments into account, the AIR will be finalized by the EAO and CEAA, and then issued to the Proponent.
