International Power Line Project (Archived)

New Brunswick

Description: The New Brunswick Power Corporation has submitted a proposal to construct and operate a 345 kilovolt international power line. In Canada, the 90 km line will run from Point Lepreau to the Maine-NB border , west of St. Stephen.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On December 20, 2002, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authority for appropriate next steps.
